Foreign Trade Statistics Quarterly Report 2nd Quarter 2025

The Bahamas National Statistical Institute is pleased to announce the release of its 2ND Quarter 2025 Foreign Trade figures. This report presents data on merchandise trade that is imported and exported into and from The Bahamas.

"‘Machinery & Transport Equipment’ the largest contributor to imports, totaled $306 million (or 25% of all imports). This was followed by the category of ‘Food And Live Animals’ which accounted for 18% or $226 million."

2ND QUARTER 2025 TRADE DATA HIGHLIGHTS

Imports

Estimates on commodities imported into The Bahamas totaled some $1,242 billion dollars resulting in a decrease of 9% when compared with the same period last year.

‘Machinery & Transport Equipment’ the largest contributor to imports, totaled $306 million (or 25% of all imports). This was followed by the category of ‘Food And Live Animals’ which accounted for 18% or $226 million.

Other categories that contributed significantly to total imports were ‘Manufactured Goods Classified Chiefly By Materials’, ‘Miscellaneous Manufactured Articles’, and ‘Mineral Fuels, Lubricants And Related Materials’ with a combined total of $494 million (40% of total imports).

Exports

Total exports (domestic and re-exports) for 2nd quarter 2025 totaled $172 million resulting in a decrease of 29% when compared to the same period last year. The major categories of exports consisted mainly of ‘Machinery And Transport Equipment’ totaling $69 million (40% of total exports), ‘Manufactured Goods Classified Chiefly By Materials’ totaling 46 million (27% of total exports) and ‘Mineral Fuels, Lubricants And Related Materials’ totaling $18 million (11% of total export).
